The Des Moines Area Sports Commission (DMASC) gives Central Iowans the opportunity to vote for their favorite sports team(s) and athlete(s) based on the criteria outlined below.
2011 Nomination and Voting Criteria:
  1. All activities must have occurred during calendar year 2011.
  2. All activities must occur within a 75-mile radius of home plate in Principal Park.
  3. Nominations/votes that take place outside of the above listed dates will not be accepted.
  4. The DMASC, Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau and all associated parties are not liable for internet/voting issues.
  5. High School nominees must participate at the varsity level of competition and must meet all varsity eligibility requirements.
  6. College/University nominees may come from any division of the NCAA, NAIA or the NJCAA; they must participate at the varsity level of competition and must meet all varsity eligibility requirements.
  7. Professional/Motorsports/Other nominees are open to all sports not represented above.
  8. All disputes to be settled by the Central Iowa Sports Awards (CISA) Honors Committee.
Following nominations, finalists will be chosen for the public to vote on and winners will be announced at the CISA banquet Sunday, February 26 at Forte Banquet and Conference Center.
