Des Moines has a storied history and a continued dedication to golf. The oldest public golf course west of the Mississippi River, Waveland Golf Course, sits among the hills in Des Moines. Courses in Des Moines have hosted National tournaments for men and women for over 70 years, ranging from the U.S. Amateur to Professional events. The initial NCAA Golf Championship was held at the Wakonda Club in 1939. Over 250,000 people, a USGA record, attended the 1999 U.S. Senior Open at Des Moines Golf Club.Easy access, affordable pricing and an abundance of courses make Des Moines an outstanding place to bring your clubs. Fifteen public courses with at least 18 holes await you. Championship courses include the Tournament Club of Iowa, an Arnold Palmer Signature Course, and one of the more challenging in the area. The Harvester has been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the top courses in the country. The Legacy Club plays host to the Gateway Tour Championship each year. The city-owned courses: Blank, Grandview and Waveland, have a rich history and great rates.

Beaver Creek Golf Course
Beaver Creek is a public 27-hole, bent grass facility. We are a Golf Digest 4 Star course with lots of trees, water and elevation changes. We specialize in golf outings, either utilizing tee times or shotgun starts.

Blank Golf Course
One of Des Moines' best 18-hole golf courses, open March through November, offers a great layout, a public driving range and now features a GPS system. Blank Golf Course offers a PGA Pro, lessons, golf shop, food and driving range. The course is available for tournaments, outings and public use.

Copper Creek Golf Club

Jester Park Golf Course
This full-service golf facility addresses all levels of golfers. Challenge yourself on the 18-hole championship course or improve your short game on the Par 3 course. A state of the art practice facility exists for those who wish to learn or enhance their game. The Jester Park Course is located off I-80/35, exit 127, 30 minutes northwest of Des Moines. Follow Highway 141 west 6 1/2 miles to NW 121st Street and turn right at Jest Park and Polk City signs.

Otter Creek Golf Course
Featuring lush bluegrass fairways, full length cart paths, the finest greens in the state. It was the 2005 Host course for the Iowa Open, State Girl's Championship, State Boy's Championship, State Co-Ed Championship and Junior Tour Championship.

Sleepy Hollow Sports Park
This unique 60-acre, year-round sports park caters to groups and individuals and hosts events from 50 to 2,000+. During the winter months, it features downhill skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing. The spring and summer months include activities such as an 18-hole miniature golf course, golf driving range, baseball and softball batting range, sand volleyball leagues, mountain bike trails, roller racers and a beautiful 9 hole par 3 golf course can be found. In the fall, check out the Halloween activities that include a Halloween hayrack ride, haunted house and little tykes walk. The site also features a 9,000 square foot clubhouse and large tent area that are host to many different banquets, picnics, receptions, class reunions and other parties throughout the year.

The Tournament Club of Iowa's (TCI) golf course is a premier Arnold Palmer design golf course and residential community. TCI has been voted 2004 Golf Digest’s Top 10 Best New Upscale Courses and 2003-2008 Golf Digest’s Best Courses in the State. TCI is located 20 minutes north of Des Moines.

The only municipal course named by golf writer Davy Hoffman as one of "America's Greatest Golf Courses." Waveland Golf Course offers a PGA Pro, lessons, golf shop, food and bar. The course is 18 holes with a continuous cart path and is available for tournaments, outings and public use. We are open March through November.

Woodland Hills Golf Course
Woodland Hills Golf Course is Des Moines' oldest privately owned public golf course and has 18 holes of golf and a driving range. The course is available for golf outings with shotgun starts and food and beverage are available. No outing is too small!
