Al Lorenzen became the Vice President of Sports & Development in July of 2008 after joining the Des Moines Area Sports Commission as Director of Sports in March of 2007. In his role, he oversees all aspects of daily operations including attracting, promoting and supporting sporting events and activities that stimulate economic growth/impact in Central Iowa.
Previously, Al served as Assistant Athletic Director External Affairs for the Drake University Athletic Department. Al has also served as Director of Membership for Florida Citrus Sports, the organization that runs the Champps Sports Bowl and the Capitol One Bowl in Oralando, Florida.

Scott Koch is Senior Sports Manager with the Sports Commission. In this role, he helps service all sporting groups and their events, from local to state to regional to national, by providing support through volunteers, materials, site visits, hotel information, financial assistance and more. In addition, his role also involves researching, bidding on and bringing sporting events to Greater Des Moines that are not here on an annual basis (NCAA, USATF, USYSA, USAG, etc.). He also assists the Vice President of Sports and Development in the execution and development of events. Scott previously worked as the Interim Sports Director for the Junior Olympics, overseeing all the sport sites, from set-up to tear-down.

Katie Jessen joined the Sports Commission in June of 2007. Currently, her role is Sports Manager. Prior to joining the team, Katie was a student-athlete at Iowa State University where she earned a marketing and management degree. While attending Iowa State University she was a member of the volleyball team throughout the 2003-2006 seasons.
